He was raised by a single mother on welfare and worked throughout high school to help his family. By the time he was in his midtwenties, he had saved $10,000, purchased a home, and established a retirement fund. But he found that God had bigger plans for his life. The life lessons shared in D. L. Israels book deal with learning to listen to what God has planned, rather than following ones earthly desires. A natural storyteller, D. L. shares what he has learned having humility rather than pride, needing love and hope and shunning hate and envy, putting forth goodness and wisdom rather than evil and discouragement. He has learned to accept life for what it is worth and seeks to inspire his readers to follow a similar path.

This book is a written testimony of how determination, coming from a new revelation of faith, can change lives. It will demonstrate that the promises we read about in the Bible are for us today, even if we don’t yet know how they apply to the situations we’re living through. Be encouraged by the Amoyos experience as, after years of heartbreak and loss, the Word becomes real and they put their faith first.

This book was released on 2004 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lorenzo Polizzotto examines the educational, religious, political, and philanthropic practices of the Florentine youth confraternity of the Purification. Founded in 1427 at a time of unbounded optimism in Florence's future, the Purification was entrusted with the socialization of the youths. With the right education and training, these youths were expected eventually to lead Florence to its manifest destiny. The Purification's educational practices were solidly grounded in religious and humanist principles. In concert with the other youth confraternities, the Purification pioneered an educational programme which influenced pedagogical practices throughout Europe until the middle of the twentiethcentury. Its success made it an attractive prize for the contending political forces in Florence, becoming first an instrument of Medici ambitions and then of Savonarolan radical millenarism. Once Florence fell under the permanent rule of the Medici, the Purification sought to serve the city byturning to philanthropy, which it dispensed as a moral and educational duty.

Book excerpt: In this provocative follow-up to his enormously influential ' A Rabbi Talks with Jesus', Jacob Neusner challenges the apostle Paul to debate the true meaning and significance of Judaism. Drawing new boundaries for Jewish-Christian dialogue, Neusner contends that Paul's misinterpretation of Judaism - a misinterpretation perpetuated today by many Christians and Jews - has resulted in the widespread perception of Judaism as ethnic and particular, and Christianity as universal. Yet as Neusner clearly demonstrates, just as Christianity presents an option to all of God's faithful, so too does Judaism's mediation of the voice of God at Sinai echo across the entire world.

Rather than fragmenting Genesis into hypothetical sources and reading each in isolation from the others, as has often been the case in scholarship, this final-form reading exposes the coherence and complexity of the book. In particular, the initial announcements of plot, prefacing each major block of the book are shown to exercise an intimate yet surprising influence over the narratives they govern. The seemingly naive stories of Genesis, when read wholistically, offer profound insights into the interplay between divine providence and human free will.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if God fell in love and the person was already married? A bitter story of the very first love triangle between a man, his wife, and their God First came Adam, whose fall soured His quest for absolute authority, then Noah, whose dreary sense of duty He found dull. God resolves for a third and final time to get it right, to select a vessel through whom He can direct human affairs, and to whom He can communicate directly His will. He chooses a solitary figure whose trust must be wooed, but whose faith, once secured, will surely reflect even greater glory and love. Were matters only that simple. In Only Human, Jenny Diski's brilliant and affecting retelling of the Abraham and Sarah story, God learns that no man, chosen or not, is solitary, and that the bonds forged by the human heart are resilient even to divine commandment. Diski transforms an archetypal tale of Old Testament obedience into a fierce love triangle, a test of wills over not only mankind's future, but over who will tell the story of its past.
